About the Program
Itty Bitty Muddy Buddies is a 90-minute, outdoor developmental enrichment program where young children and their caregivers explore, discover, and connect through child-led play.
Developed through the lens of pediatric occupational therapy, the program draws on principles of early childhood development to support sensory, motor, social, and emotional development.
Children are invited to explore a variety of experiences, including mud and water play, digging, pouring, scooping, painting, climbing, imaginative play, and experimenting with natural materials.
Rather than following structured activities, circle time, or adult-directed instruction, children are encouraged to follow their curiosity and explore at their own pace, with caregivers nearby to share in their discoveries.
Caregivers also receive weekly educational emails that connect what we're observing and experiencing during class to early childhood development, offering insights into the sensory, motor, social, and emotional skills emerging through play.
Please note: Itty Bitty Muddy Buddies is a developmental enrichment program, not occupational therapy treatment or clinical services.

Do caregivers participate in the program?
Yes! This is a Caregiver + Me experience. Each child attends with a designated caregiver who remains present and actively supervises their child throughout the session.
Can I bring a younger sibling?
Yes! Siblings under 12 months are welcome to attend at no additional cost. All children must remain under their caregiver's supervision throughout the class.
Does my child have to enjoy getting muddy?
Not at all! Children can explore a variety of play experiences, including water and sand play, painting, building, sensory exploration, and more. Children are encouraged to follow their interests and engage at their own pace.
What if my child is hesitant to explore or prefers to observe?
That's perfectly okay! Some children jump right into play, while others need time to watch, explore their surroundings, and become comfortable. There is no expectation to participate in any particular activity.
Can I attend just one class?
Yes! Single-class registration may open approximately one week before each class, depending on availability. Priority registration is given to families enrolling in the full series.
